DPG Polytechnic also offers Diploma in Automobile Engineering , over the year the department has developed excellent laboratory facilities with state of the art equipment . Four laboratories are common with Mechanical Engineering Stream. Students of the program are encouraged to participate in various competitions, develop new concepts and also to build working systems related to automobiles towards their final year projects.
The Automobile Engineering Department endeavors to be recognized globally for outstanding education and research leading to well qualified engineers, who are innovative, entrepreneurial and successful in advanced fields of mechanical engineering to cater the ever changing industrial demands and social needs.
The Automobile Engineering is committed to:-
The various Laboratories in the Automobile Department are as mentioned below

The laboratory facilitates experimental based performance evaluations of a wide variety of IC engines using a wide variety of fuels including the 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation Biofuels. It also facilitates evaluation of exhaust smoke and emissions of IC engines and EOBD, ECU Diagnosis, Components Tests of IC engine based transport vehicles. Available equipment include: AVL Ditest MDS 650 INT(Set); Single Cylinder Two Stroke Petrol Engine; Twin Cylinder Four stroke Diesel Engine; Computerized single Cylinder 4 Stroke petrol engine Test Rig; Computerized single Cylinder 4 Stroke petrol engine Test Rig; Computerized single Cylinder 4 Stroke Water cooled Diesel engine Test Rig; Double stage Air Compressor Test Rig; Cut Section Model of Maruti 800 Engine; Model of Hydraulic Brake Unit; Four Cylinder-Four Stroke Petrol Engine Test Rig; Single Cylinder Four Stroke Water Cooled Diesel Engine Test Rig.
Chasis Body and Transmission
A chassis is the internal framework of an artificial object, which supports the object in its construction and use. An example of a chassis is a vehicle frame, the underpart of a motor vehicle, on which the body is mounted; if the running gear such as wheels and transmission, and sometimes even the driver’s seat, are included, then the assembly is described as a rolling chassis.
